DOCTORS RECEIVING EXTRA PERKS AT BETHEL

Obtaining a nice sized room in bethel (during a room bid) depends on seniority or full time service years (which includes pioneer service).

Since the GB needs doctors (dentists, etc) they would offer them the best rooms even though they never pioneered. One dentists in Bethel was given a room that included a garage to park his car. One doctor was able to kick out 4 single brothers and had it remodeled to his specs.

Does anyone know if they (doctors) received a higher stipen? I would not be surprised if they didn't.

You know, as much as this might be annoying, these guys have given up a lot of wealth to come to some where so beneath them. Personally, I am more shocked that they would come to Bethel after all those years of education, more then what they were given once they got there.

I agree. In Betheldom they do deserve more than anyone else...but since the Watchtower teaches we should be content with what is provided - then they should apply it at the place where they believe should be a pattern for all.

I was happy for what the doctors got. But it is a double standard in Watchtower.

    No priase for the WT!

i worked for a dentist who made about 350 k per year - the wt giving bigger rooms must have made those dentists laugh -

The doctor at the farm lived in a house nearby and it was anything but exquisite. One of his kids was a bethelite and the others pioneered. One became a missionary. I liked him very much and respected him and his family.

The thing that is fascinating to me is - instead of embracing them, many in the family(?)treated them with jealousy and some contempt.

I personally hope they are doing well and worship in a way that is fitting to Jehovah God and not the dictates of an excuse-ridden organization that decides what it is fitting to God for themselves.

I knew one Doc and family who moved, I think to Paterson. Eventually the son got married. But I'm not sure about the daughter. The whole family was fairly new to dubdum , maybe 3 or 4 years, before they made the move. I doubt any special treatment would make up for the lifestyle the gave up.
