Writing Letter to Mum

    I've realised something...

What way could i tell mum all i want her to know and be certain i said everything i could? A letter.

I don't want this to be any letter, i want this to really speak out. Please post ideas, comments e.t.c that i can actually use. Maybe if this works enough to make her think, it could be adapted for other witnesses. (don't know how practical that is).

Here are some of the things i want to raise.

Does God need an organization? Thanks to a recent topic i have those scriptures. This is all i have so far though, so PLEASE feel free to point out real research on 607 e.t.c

John 3:16 says: For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

John 17:3: This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Note what you need to do? You have to exercise faith in him and according to the other scripture, take in Knowledge of him and his father God.

Now, open up at Mark 9:38-42.

Note what Jesus says, especially verses 41 and 42. Just because that man wasn’t exactly with Christ, he still received his reward in full. Jesus goes on to confirm this for everyone. To refute this, I am sure you agree would be refuting Jesus, who in turn spoke on his Fathers behalf.

Moving on, look at 1 st Timothy 2:1-5.

In context we see that the words of verse 5 apply not only to Prayer but worship, praise and every other way that we might seek to glorify God. Even out of context the words still say

Verse 5 - For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.

One really good scripture that makes the point clear is also in John.

John 4:19-24 shows that a time would come when people wouldn’t necessarily have a physical location where they could go to worship properly.

Acts 17:24, again a great Scripture. Nevermind who it was said to and when it was said. NOTE the statement being made.

Read Matthew 18:20: For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.

Again we see, a real relationship that works with God can easily be on an individual level.

1 st John 2:26-29 makes some excellent points, I suggest you read that. Note that no one needs a teacher, even if he says it’s his anointing that gives him this right.

John 14:6 says: Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.

Ok so I think that I’ve established that Jesus, is our way to God. The truth isn’t an organization but rather the message of hope that Jesus gave.

What did Jesus warn of in Matthew?

    Matthew 7:15-19

    Matthew 7:21-23 – Note 22 and 23.

Matthew 23:36 – If no one knows when, how come the Watchtower claimed to? Surely by predicting something (publicly) that didn’t happen (and that Jesus said no one would know). They will of known about the scripture there, so by doing it they make themselves a false prophet.

Has he chosen an Organization? From these scriptures, I would say not.

No one can own or claim to own the word of God. It doesn’t work like that.

    Hi matey,

I hope you're going as well as can be under the present circumstances I know you're in :)

I too wrote a very heartfelf letter to my mother, about 14months ago now actually, but I didn't really do into challenging points of doctrine, I more focused on the basics of the inhumanity of the org, and the effect that it had had on my family and my relationship with her. Remember lil bro that what you put in writing can sometimes be indellible, so make sure that you really take your time with it, even if it takes 6months to write, you want to make sure you say the most important things that reach into her heart, which will hopefully help to open up her eyes too in the process. So be careful what you say, and imo, it's also important to be able to write it in a mindset that allows you to remember what it was like to be yourself plugged into the matrix, so that you can make sure that your words really count. If you come out too damning of the org, remember that she won't be able to digest that & will quickly dismiss it. It is often the more subtle things over time that build up that force a person to challenge what they believe to be truth.

All the best lil bro, and all the best with thing. Much luv sis frog x

I think the fact that the Xian congregation would be known by the love they have amongst themselves...which can hardly be seen in the way they deal with young people who have been raised in the org to whom they have a duty of care to, but they abandom in their most important time of need. x

I think too that that it is important to call into question the WT intepretation of the FDS. It is impossible to deny the ambiguities of this scripture, and that there are many ways in which it could be interpreted. The WT has in fact based a large portion of it's doctrine and theocratic understanding on the research of so-called "christendom", and yet no other religion inteprests this one vague scripture in the same way. If this scripture was supposed ot mean what the GB say it does, then surely more weight would have been given to focusing on it, not to mention leaving it open to less broad interpretation. x

write the letter, but do it for yourself. It will be cathartic to get your thoughts down on paper so that you are clear how you feel and can then move on.

Do not invest a great deal of faith in it getting read, unfortunately when you challenge a JW's comfortable little world you find that they clam up tighter than Michael Jackson's face lift and stop reading.

yeh, it will be for me. i don't want to feel guilty that i never said enough or did enough. this way i can move on completely.

also if they clam up and go all weird, its clear who is the one with the problem!
