I am more or less.
No one can tell me what car to drive, or what color or clothing I should wear. You can't influence me on that.
But I noticed that I was influenced by the JW's.
I'm also influenced by poeple posting here and their opinions about the JW's.
How about you?

I can be influenced in certain things, but not much. Im too stubborn!
Not easily. i like to think about stuff, if something speaks to me and i agree with it i'll accept it but peoples opinions don't convince me.
Yes, I think so. I believe I'm more cautious since getting suckered into the JW thing, but I worry about it.
I used to be easily influenced, and that's how I got into the JWs in the first place. When I started investigating the WTS I made sure I verified everything I read on the boards. I discovered how misled I was for 20 years. Now I don't trust anyone.

There are some matters where I can be influenced. However, I tend to think through matters important to me, form opionions, and at that point I'm not easily influenced.
Influenced, hhmmm?? Perhaps a bit more or less.

Yes, I was when I left the borg. When you are part of the collective, you are taught to not have a skeptical mind. It is a fine quality to be trusting, but you must balance this. People think it's an admirable thing to be an optimist. It is. But if you are optimistic about absolutely everything, it leads to a lot of disappointment. Yes, I was ripped off a couple of times, went out with any girl who happened to be there and didn't know I was suppose to "choose" who my friends were. Hell I even tried drugs I shouldn't have done. But my persona has changed. I'm 35 tomorrow. The future is bright.
There is nothing wrong with being influenced as long as it is in a positive way, I carefully evaluate what other people say when they attempt to influence me directly or subtly and if it's not in my interests, if it is a manipulative tactic, I don't follow through. Gone are the days when I was naive and blindly trusting.
