During the ‘Flame Wars’ of the past few days I’ve kept my head down in a safe place (lurking again). But I feel impelled to share with you all some lines written a long time ago by Robbie Burns but so appropriate to our present state of affairs:

“Oh wad some power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
    An’ foolish notion.”

I hesitate to give the title of the poem as some might take it too personal – but here it is anyway: “To A Louse”.

I had a real concern that various ‘arsonists’ were intent on burning down the Forest where many of we smaller creatures have found shelter and comfort. I am truly thankful that things have quieted down. Is it because fire season is nearly over or because ‘Ranger’ Simon is back on the job? Please, be careful with the ‘fire’ that words can ignite.

    My quack of the day.

I've always liked that quote...and I believe we can all apply it's words at different times in our lives.

Don't worry, I haven't seen the flames consume anyone yet!
