Went to a church sale yesterday - no demon problems yet

I went to a thrift shop at a local Baptist church yesterday. It was a pretty nice set up. I had not been to one of these since I was a young child. They had lots of clothes, toys, books, cards and household items. I bought some coffee mugs for .25 each. These always get broken in my home so I can never have enough. Also a blouse and some postcards at .10 each.

There were three elderly sisters talking about upcoming church activities and eating lunch together. They talked about worship services, interfaith fellowship activities, pot-luck dinner. One thing I noticed was there was no demon talk at all and I made it home with my wares without being possessed. Hugh, how interesting!

No but seriously, my hubby and I were talking about all the nonesense we learned from the WT. I still cannot believe we took it serious in any way. Both of us had fond memories of going to thrift shops and other church sales to look for "treasures" when we were kids. We both grew up in poor homes and although my family is pretty well off - I never pay full price when I can buy something used that works just as well. Anyway, we were saying how we knew there were no demons lurking like some Witnesses thought, we should have made this very clear to them. I remember though that the WT taught we would be supporting false religion. Since I now believe the WT is a false religion, and I am finding I believe a lot of what is taught in main stream churches today, I don't feel the same way about it now. Again, what the heck was I thinking in the first place?

All in all, I got some good deals, met some nice elderly ladies who live in my community, had good thoughts about my childhood, and had a good laugh at myself thinking about my past beliefs. So I highly recomend you all to go to your local churches next sale, Lilly

Just wait till your asleep one night and the stuff you got turns on you. Keep a Watchtower close to ward it off, you can never be to careful.

    drew,

don't worry I will call out Jehovah's name when I am attacked.

    Dismembered,

I didn't buy any metal objects so I am safe. I was told the demons can only possess metal objects and this was by an elders wife so she would know right?

Once, while on a family vacation (towing a trailer), we had the option of parking in a church parking lot, because all the campgrounds were full. My mother refused because she was afraid we'd be attacked be demons if we spent the night in the shadow of that big ol' demon house. We ended up parking in a rest area 40 miles down the road.

My house is an old church and it didn't stop the JW's from knocking....I wish it had.

The spanish and portugese congregation knocks every 3 weeks without fail.

So if you are thinking of buying and old falling down church...don't think it will keep the JW's away.

    That Myth is BUSTED!

Maybe I should keep a sign that says Yard/Garage sale out at all times...that will keep them away! LOL!
