    Hello again,

Does anyone remember a few years ago when the society supposedly made a rule about Kingdom Ministries, that only publishers putting in service time were supposed to have them? Well, about 3 years ago, I went to a bookstudy, after being inactive for awhile and trying to go back to meetings, anyway, one of the Elders saw a kingdom ministry in my bookbag and asked me," Where did you get that "? I told them an elder had given it to me. He then said," well, you are not supposed to have it, they are for active pubs. only"! I felt like a piece of trash and was embarrassed. He then told me if I was intending on going out in service, it would be OK to keep it.

Talk about getting kicked when your down. What is happening with the society anymore?? What is the big deal with things like this??

I also recently had an elder tell me that I can no longer receive Magazines at the Kingdom Hall because I don't attend enough meetings. He says they cost money and it is a waste. That's what I call real Christian encouragement there huh??

    What a friggin'zoo.

    Looking forward to you're comments!

Reply: This is new? It's supposed to impress upon you just how important it is to be regular in field service and meeting attendance.

This is hardly new. I was DF years back, in 1977. I was reinstated in 1978. It took me almost 2 friggin' years to get a K.M. One of my pioneer friends would make a copy of hers and give it to me. The literature servant told me that they are only given so many copies and if new ones come in, or as in my case, come back, then they don't get any until the order is adjusted. I guess no "new" order was put in for almost 2 years, huh? I saw plenty of new ones and others get theirs before I got mine. It was noticed by many but nothing was done.
As far as Wachtowers and Awakes from the KH, that is not new either. When I started to become inactive about 8 years ago, I had to "renew" my order a couple times and make a big stink to get them. I have now been out for 6 years as a "drift-away". I still get the mags in the mail though. A sweet younger sister comes and renews my subs every six months. So far, anyways.....

Kingdoom ministries are printed on the cheapest, low-grade peice of crap paper available in the world, there are people in 3rd world countries who would not use the paper for toilet paper, and the Society is trying to control how many get given out???? Talk about penny-pinching bastards.

Its a club and getting a KM increases your social status in the club.

Its run like a club. You can even be blackballed by the membership and kicked out of the club.

    Its a club.

I didn't know that this had been going on for so long. The way it was presented to me was that this was a new policy from the society-geez, maybe we are more rural than I think........

I always thought that was such a dumb rule. I asked my book study conductor if my daughter (who could read) could have her own KM. He said no because she wasn't baptized. That never made any sense to me. I was always loosing my KM and I'd hate sitting at the meeting when they'd go over it because I'd stick out like a sore thumb because I didn't have mine and they didn't have any extras. Jurs

    Jurs,
They handed you crap. There were tons of unbaptized children in our Hall and they all had there own KM. I think this is a control thing on an individual and congregational level..like it has been said, it is a club. Another control factor to make you feel in or out. Loving and united, huh?

Like, who wants one anway? I wonder how a professional news editor would react if he/she ever got to see one.

Like you said, Lindy; 'cause here, kids and inactive and new ones all get them, so in stead of blaming the org, blame individuals and demand your right, and that is all there is to it, in stead of making strange accusations here.
