    Hi Steph,

Watching it now. Results not ready yet, but it will be a VERY confusing parliament.

CNN's comments more or less covers it so far: http://europe.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/europe/09/10/norway.ballot/index.html

I think this is the best place on the Net to follow the Norwegian election in English: http://www.aftenposten.no/english/

The ruling Labour party is facing its worst election after WWII, so much is fact. I very much doubt they can stay in power (ie. holding the government) At the same time, extreme left (SV) is having significant progress. No traditional blocks will have the majority. It will prolly be some sort of coalition government. I fear the priest Bondevik will be back as prime minister. Oh well.

    LOL, bboy. Pretty good.

Except we neither have polar bears ("isbjørn" in Norwegian) nor a President in Norway. Unless you count Spitzbergen, where there are some polar bears, but still no President. We have a relic called monarchy here, you know

I was interested to know that your parliament is still called a "Thing" (Storting) - a relic from the Viking age!

Then why does it say this at polar-bears.com

Interesting Facts: Polar bears are a potentially threatened species. They wander across the circumpolar north on the ice from Russia to Alaska, from Canada to Greenland and on over to Norway. Their estimated population is around 22,000 to 27,000. About 15,000 of those live in Canada. In 1973, the five nations with Polar Bear populations entered into the International Agreement for the Conservation of Polar Bears. In Norway, Polar Bears are completely protected and have been since 1973.
