imho...on a personal note, I wanted to know what my relatinship with Jesus was. It was non existance while and for awhile after the dubs.
While Jesus was here, He knew all things, had power over death (Lazarus), had the power to forgive, knew our thoughts, and had the power to save. Believers had intimate personal friendships and honor for Jesus. John 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
1 Timothy 1:16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience, for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.
After Jesus died and rose from the dead people had personal relationships with him; John 20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?" She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."John 20:19 When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be to you."
After Jesus rose to heaven people had personal relationships with him; Acts 9:4-5 He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" He said, "Who are you, Lord?" The Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
Then Jesus made this promise;John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
We can debate until the end of time the Deity of Christ, but if one believes the Bible as do I, one will find that having a personal relationship with Jesus is necessary to a relationship with the Father.
