Today, I didn't go in to work because I wasn't feeling well. It wasn't from the cognac that I was drinking last night. This has been going on for some time now. I've been going to work whether I feel good or not. Anyway, I called in. Tonight I started having chest pain and anxiety. I thought it was my nerves or something. I took all of my meds including the Lopressor (heart drug); and I still felt like crap. I told my husband. He said take a pain pill. So, I did. Still felt like crap. So, I figured it must be acid indigestion, so I took some Rolaids. My chest still hurt! Sh*t! So, I told my husband to give me one of his Nitro pills. It worked! The pain went away in a couple of minutes. After that, I took a baby aspirin.

Sheesh! I guess I'll be going in to see the doctor tomorrow. (Bah! Humbug!)

Well, that's fairly scary! Good idea to get into the doc asap. Glad you stayed home too.

MsMcD- I hope everything is okay. I'm glad you're going to see a doctor and not just blowing it off since it finally went away.

Take care. Going to the docs isn't pleasant and neither is the bill for the extra meds, but you can't mess with serious issues like your heart.

    MsMcD,

So glad you are getting that checked out.

My Dad had a heart attack last week, but he had no chest-pain. He thought his stomach was upset, too. A couple of days after the stomach pain started, he got weak and dizzy. We took him to emergency, they said he had a heart attack. He had also had leg pain for 2 years (My dad hates doctors). So he probably has clogged arteries. They are checking that out also.

This is nothing to play with, as I'm sure you know. I'll be wishing you well. Take care of yourself!!!

Ms Mcduckett...I too have a cardiologist...I have MVP..and have had high blood pressure..but under control now.

I have had 2 of my cardiologists die on me!..One was my age and he had a heart attack..isn't that ironic?

The other one had cancer and worked till the day he died....

I really liked both of them..and I really don't like the one I saw last time..

I have moved recently so maybe I will find a new one in the neighborhood I like.

I really hate going to the Dr..... and the dentist...

    Snoozy..

Hon, i don't want to scare you but get to the doctor's and ask for an MRI and/or CAT scan. My father recently had a stroke after complaining of chest pains. While his recovery has been remarkable, it could have been avoided that the idiots at the hospital perfermed these tests BEFORE the bloodclot dislodged from his heart. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't come in on the weekends to do this (how much sense does that make?), and he had a stroke.

As I say, I don't want to scare you, but better to be safe than sorry.

Chest pain could be due to a number of reasons but because it could be due to heart problems it's wise to check out this possibility. From what I see around me men suffer a lot more from heart disease than women.

Hello everyone, I just got back from the cardiologist. He gave me an order for nitro patches. I had a heart cath last year, which was clean, except I did have a cardiospasm (I meant coronary artery spasm) doing the procedure. They gave me some nitro IV and the pain went away. The doctor said thought that he may have caused it to happen, at that time. Today, I asked him if it is possible to have cardiospasm (coronary artery spasms) without having a procedure done. He said "yes". Therefore, he gave me the patches to wear. He, also, has scheduled me for some additional cardiac exams, just to be safe.

I, also, have a disorder called achalasia (I'm just a mess.), which means that I have disordered esophageal propulsion. It's considered to be a neurological disorder. When this happens, it causes chest pain. The treatment, other than botox injections or surgery, is nitro. So, I got them both covered.

Now, I'm going to go to get some sleep.

Thanks to all for thinking of me!
