The successful way to lie

When we say that the leaders of the JWs know something about playing tricks with the mind in order to deceive and manipulate, this statement is relevent here:

"The masses will accept any lie if it is spoken with vigor, energy and dedication."

I believe this was Rutherford's main trick since he also had a forceful personality. On the basis of this he produced that most central lie about the invisible inspection of the temple by Christ and the selection of the dubs as the only genuine people worthy of being the custodians of His kingdom, putting the dubs on a sky high pedestal.

What a blinding arrogance coming from a man with a very anti christian personality. Yet to this day this lie is a main pillar for their ideology and status. The FDS got chosen by Christ and must be blindly obeyed.

    Good point.

By 1872, Barnum was already referring to his enterprise as "The Greatest Show On Earth" -- and it was! "P.T. Barnum's Traveling World's Fair, Great Roman Hippodrome and Greatest Show On Earth" covered five acres and accommodated 10,000 seated patrons at a time ... and, to reach more people, took to the rails. (Just to explain a little in case people don't know who he was)

The snake oil peddler became a stock character in Western movies: a travelling "doctor" with dubious credentials, selling some medicine — such as snake oil — with boisterous marketing hype, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence. To enhance sales, an accomplice in the crowd would often 'attest' the value of the product in an effort to provoke buying enthusiasm. The "doctor" would prudently leave town before his customers realized that they had been cheated. This practice is also called "grifting" and its practitioners "grifters

Gumby and Juni that is the WTS, it's all about weaving webs of deception and the basic instinct that runs the WTS circus show is how to deceive.

How else could a vitriolic drunkard and luxury lover who had taken over the WTS by devious means have the cheek to claim that he was chosen by Christ to be in charge of His earthly interests?

Yet many from the unthinking naive masses believe all this nonsene.

In other words it's not just the truth that gets accepted as such but also lies that are told with vigour and determination and the WTS leaders were well aware of this mind trick and that somehow the masses do want to have their ears tickled with myths.

How can God or Jesus judge us upon men that lie?

Any religious leader can say that they "alone" have the truth.

Only the Watchtower leadership had that arrogance.

Yep - things said with authority and confidence carry a lot of weight.

But WHO are the leaders? I feel that the GB are a 'token' and have no God-given Inspiration.
