WT induced neck pain and panic attacks

For as long as I can remember I used to have neck pain at every meeting. I would get to the point where if I sat there 1 more minute I felt like my head was going to explode or I would just lose it and start screaming.. I had to get up and pace back and forth at the back of the hall. I saw a chiropractor and he made it worse. At one point I was wearing a cervical collar for 6 weeks due to the pain.

Interpreting helped a lot because if I was interpreting I could stand for the hour and then only had to sit for 1 hour. Even that was too much for me some days.

Having babies or helping other people with their babies also helped because I didn't have to sit so long.

At home the only time I had this feeling was when I would lie down at night. To get my body to relax I would have to lie on my back and allow the tension out of my body. But after 5 minutes on my back I would have a panic attack and have to roll over onto my side. This disappeared when I started therapy and realized that it was connected to the sexual abuse.

At the time I didn't realize these things had a name. I just thought I was weird. Well, maybe I am but...

I knew part of my problems were the result of living with my husband and after I left him the pain in my neck left.

It wasn't until 5 minutes ago that I connected these feelings to the WTS and realized what else that neck pain was all about. It wasn't until I left the JWs that I could sit for 1 1/2 to 3 hours for a college course and not have my neck bother me at all. Come to think of it I can sit at my desk here for hours and my neck doesn't bother me

It wasn't about sitting for two hours. It was having to listen to the same old same old for 22 years. I was fed up. It was about feeling trapped in a system that was emotionally and spiritually abusive

This can occur with anxiety and tension. I get these and a headache every time I visit a doctor or go to the hospital.
