Summary: If you dance, you will have sex with someone. If you have sex with someone, you will BURN IN HELL. Ergo, dancing is from Satan (all Biblical evidence to the contrary).
It's really not just the Witnesses, is it? Religion is pretty much odious across the board. -

This thread is sooooooo ironic, because dancing runs in my family.
As a matter of fact, as the story goes, my Great Grandfather died dancing........................................................................................dancing on the end of a rope!!!!!

At the age of 16 I tested and obtained the job as a ball room dance instructer. Most work was required in the evenings which made me miss meetings. I loved the job and worked hard. But after 6 months was made to quit as this was not what Jehovah wanted, the end was coming and I could teach in the new system. Low and behold one of the guys I use to practice with I saw on television not too long ago as a professional.....he was terrible at the time!!!
The loss of youth and talent in this organization is very depressing.

Having grown up here in the Bible Belt, I do so recognize this kind of thing. It even infected the jws when I was a teen, as many felt dancing was evil However, my hubby is from up state and the jws there frequently danced at parties. My grandparents were fire breathing burn in hell fanatics.
He writes well however.

This is not the only things these sums a britches go crazy 'bout
I remember reading this one flaming numbskulls tale of horror after seeing "demons" rising out of a CHRISTIAN rock bands stage set. And he wasn't smoking anything!! just forgot spit not swallow certain toxic chemicals as a kid I suppose.
Another thing people of course go crazy about is tattoos/piercings *uuuurrrrrrghhhhhhhhh*
When I had my nose pierced I got into a very uncomfortable "debate" with one of my Aunts. She basically said it gave people a certain "impression" blah blah.
Looking back I should have said something wicked clever like, like, like, *sneer* "your ASS gives people a certain impression."
That would have been supernova.
