Blondie, I was wondering about similar phrases in other religions that are used in the same way as the dubs use "new light" to describe their ever changing doctrine.
I just wanted to point out the similarities that exist within many religions that view changes as being directed by God, supposedly to clarify views, and at the same time not admit they were ever wrong.

Catholics have " Sacred Tradition", which are teachings or practices that are not in the scriptures but have become equal to scripture.
Similiar to JWs, 5 meetings, turning in time, titles like pioneers, observing 1914 as Christ's return, 1919 as the year of inspection, etc.
