I was told some of the New World Translation has been produced in ASL (American Sign Language). Does anyone know about this? I have a few items on DVD already but would like to see if they have any of the NWT in ASL. Not that I recommend the translation but would be curious to see it. Thanks.

It has been...i do have access to it..it is something that the witnesses have made a strong point in their organization...a fixed text...this is the problem that ALL religions have had difficulty with when it comes to those that require the use of ASL...they all end up using interpreters and the only difficulty with this is that no two interpreters will EVER interpret the same thign the same way...now that the society has FIXED text it has something that no other religions has-communication for the deaf the same way EVERY way...makes me shudder every time i think about it...
All those deaf people that for years have been frustrated with the lack of communication in the religious arena that now all of a sudden have TOTAL access to a religious information source and the translation is the same no matter where you go in the us...(shudders) good for them (the society) bad for the deaf...(shakes head)

My parents are deaf too. Do you know how much of the NWT is available?
As much as I disagree with the theology of the Organization I have to say I am impressed with the quality of the DVDs I've seen. I'd be very interested in collecting whatever of the NWT in ASL is available but I don't have access to a local congregation to get them.
