Donating to library

I went to the library yesterday and was looking in the religious section and came across none other than the blue creation book. I read this book when i was 15, and thought it was great! It was my introduction to dubs. I just had to laugh when i saw it standing there, in a library of all places. It seems my public Library has no qualms about accepting dodgy religious literature. On the shelves i also saw a huge (i mean huge) book about scientology, the book of moromon and a few others. But i just can't believe that the creation book of all things would actually make to the shelves, you may as well allow anything in. I mean, whats next?, 'you can live forever in a paradise on earth' or even the Revelation book? So anyway, i'm now thinking of buying 'Apocalyse delayed' and maybe 'COC' for the local library, just to let everyone have a balanced view of things.

    Hey Zep,

If you're serious, what a generous thing to do!

So anyway, i'm now thinking of buying 'Apocalyse delayed' and maybe 'COC' for the local library, just to let everyone have a balanced view of things.

My husband & I collect antiques, come across books etc. Have found several old WT ones. I buy them. I told one sister about it and she nastily said (pioneer-style) "I wouldn't have bought it. Some person may have bought it and come into the Truth. Now they've missed this chance."

As if I was so selfish to keep the Truth to myself.

There is a new publication being printed especially for libraries to convey correct information about Jehovah's Witnesses. A very nice, large hard cover publication, not cheaply produced apparently.

Yeah, i'm serious Waiting. I've thought about it a few times. I haven't read COC or Apocalypse Delayed, so i'll probably do that before i donate them. I was thinking of giving up my copy of GTR since i have no need for Dub doctrine anymore, but it's heavy stuff and i think i'll keep it. I've just got to figue the money side of things, which shouldn't be too much of a problem and then its all systems go. I'll do it Waiting, just give me a few months and i'll put in the order to Commentary press.

Path, whats the new publication. Are you talking about one of the books i just mentioned.

Actually, i just did a search of the local library database. This is the entire list of Dub related literature that they have. Someone had the gall to donate 'You people ask'. There's only one copy of COC for my whole state and its the 2nd edition.
I'd like to know a little about this one: 'Fifth column slanders God's kingdom, Jehovah's ambassadors are the real friends of the British people'. Sounds pretty weird and was published in Aus as a pamphlet. Sounds whacky!

Title: The spirit and the sword : Jehovah's Witnesses expose the Third Reich /
Author: Pellechia, James N. Date: c1997.

    2. Title: Crisis of conscience /

    3. Title: Questions young people ask, answers that work.
    Date: c1989.

    4. Title: Thirty years a watch tower slave : the confessions of a converted jehovah's witness.

The book i mentioned was something produced by the society as part of their ongoing PR campaigne. I don't know much about it. Apparently its for selected places such as colleges, universities, libraries.

    Zep,

I read "Thirty Years a Watchtower Slave." It's very good. Probably the first "tell all" book about JW's. Schnell talks about the early days, and some of the strong arm tactics the WTS used.

    Hey Zep,

My son is at an university. He got the book "The Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses" for me. (Amazon said they couldn't get it.) Really a good book.

Of course, the Bottings (authors) went to this university, so that might explain why the university had a copy of their book. I think they wrote their thesis on the subject, which developed into the book.

It's still a neat thing you're thinking of doing. I would assume that most, if not all, persons not jw's are unaware of the impact of the facts and history in COC. And, of course, good dubs don't know either.

Makes one want to call their local library........

    Hey Zep,

Just came from H20 - about missing libary books which could be perceived as bad publicity against the WTBTS.

Thought you might want to read it.......

The following is the click to an article about Ray Franz in Time Magazine around 1985. Very interesting.
