The intent is certainly the same. The thinking process is the same. The only difference is that one group intends to do it themselves, while the other looks to God to accomplish it.

Actually, that is an interesting comparision. People here at work keep asking "how can these people be so brainwashed to believe that God wants them to fly an airplane into a building, killing themselves and thousands of others"? On a smaller scale, many of us have experienced something simliar. My family, like most other JW's, do whatever the the WT says. The WT commands "Do not speak to your family member who left truth", the loyal JW answers "YES!". The WT commands "Let your child who needs a blood transfusion die." Again the loyal JW answers "YES!" No questions asked. I shudder to think how far the WT could push a large number of JWs.
