I just received this list of phone numbers and websites for anyone who wishes to extend help to the victims in NYC. I just donated by credit card on the United Way site. It is secure and the process is very simple. Also, many local banks are collecting donations by check for the American Red Cross. I heard on the radio today, also, that the Salvation Army is seeking special donations of clothing for those in need.
Please do what you can.
