For years people have spoken about the "arms race" or "excessive spending on weapons" as being one of the great ills of the world. I think I might have even read something to that effect in the WT mag!
But what exactly did it take to kill 20000-50000 people yesterday?
1. 20 guys willing to die for what they believed in.
2. flying lessons for at least four of those guys
3. razor blades
4. airline tickets
You see the primary thing needed was not a large defense budget, but hatred in the hearts of the killers. I've heard alot in the past two days how nothing will ever be the same again. Really nothing has changed since the days of Cain and Abel. What happened yesterday has been happening for a long time and will continue to happen in the future. We all want the terrorists who did this to be executed. But if they are killed there will be ten more to take their places.
There is no solution that can be devised by man. As long as man hates then man will kill.
