    LONDON (Reuters) - A British woman has been ordered by police to take down a sign on her garden gate which read "Our dogs are fed on Jehovah's Witnesses."

    Pensioner Janet Grove, who owns a terrier puppy called Rabbit, insisted the sign was a gentle joke to discourage callers at her front door.

    Her late husband put the sign up more than 30 years ago when members of the church called at their house on Christmas Day.

    But police were forced to act after receiving a complaint.

    "We were informed by a member of the public who found the sign to be distressing, offensive and inappropriate," a police spokesman said. "Officers attended the address and the sign was voluntarily taken down."

    ROTFLOL! Oh.... I do not mean to laugh so hard but for some goofy reason, I found the sign funny. I feel bad for the sign owner having any trouble because of it, but ya gotta admit, it probably worked to keep JW's from pestering them.

    It reminds me of something that someone told me years ago when I was under the JW influences in High School. This gentleman stated to me,

    " I beleive you are smarter than just becoming a doorbell worshiper."

    LOL! I didn't think it was funny then but I giggle now. He was right!

    If the sign was on their property and it had been there for that long, who was it really hurting? REALLY!

    I've seen people let their 8 - 14 year old daughters wear shirts that say "SLUT" ; "PORN STAR" ; "TRAILOR TRASH", "SLEEPS WELL With OTHERS" let alone the other vulgar & violent statments. Why aren't these people approached for advertising pedophilia. (bunch of sickos)

    What about the METH billboards? Those are offensive. (That is what is seen here out our apartment windows. Nothing like waking up in the morning, opening the curtains and seeing someone's big rotting face to greet you. It's Nasty!)

    I wonder whether the local Kingom Hall had anything to do with it, or whether it was a mean spririted, analy retentive PC neighbour who had an axe to grind?

    In my experience, the local dubs would not want to draw attention to the sign , and I think that most would find it funny .
