I asked my husband..."Why do the people in the church you grow up in never try to get you to come back?"

He said "because they believe that if you aren't at church it's because God doesn't want you there. Those that are there, were meant to be there."

    hmmmmmm

    Just thought that was interesting.

I think it is because JWs are taught to be concerned only with their own salvation which does not depend on your being "saved." Most JWs do just enough field service to keep the elders off their backs or to qualifity for some "privilege" but they certainly don't spend the time and effort in the "preaching" you would think considering that 6 billion people are in danger of eternal destruction.

I have found that all you have to do is change congregations and most of the JWs you knew in the old soon forget you including family...too busy.

I agree. No one from my old congregation has made an effort to contact me (besides my ex-Inlaws.) But I think that was really an excuse to reconcile why their daughter left the Troof. Other than that, the last Witnessing I received was a drive by. Two sister pulled over to the side of the road and shoved some magazines in my hand before I realized what was happening. I thought they wanted directions. Boy was I wrong.

Inaddion to that, I live literally blocks from where they had DCs for 4 weekends running. No visits then either.
