From the first volume of Studies in the Scriptures,

the "Time of the End" began in 1799, when Napoleon Bonaparte imprisoned the Pope.

The Bible Students in 1919 still believed this, over 115 years later. Eventually with the "this generation" becoming tied in with 1874, and the "invisible presence of Christ", it was ridiculous to hold to the teaching.

It was changed, to 1874, and thousands left in the early twenties.

If they could succeed in changing a core teaching 115 years after it became ridiculous, I can confidently say that the WTBTS will prolly try to hang onto the 1914 date long enough (115 years?) for the old die hards to helpfully die, before it is quietly dumped overboard.

This will ensure that these old timers leave Crooklyn something in their wills. So the WT gets their money, and finds a way to hang onto those baptized at 10 yrs of age, to whom 1914 must seem like a million years ago.

The 1914 doctrine will be hard for The Watchtower to change, after all, they were teaching it for 70 years at least.

But they will have to change it as when the year 2014 comes around, people will wonder what exactly Jesus has been doing reigning as King in heaven for the last 100 years.

Note that 100 years is 10% of the 1000 year reign!!! So what's with the wait?

    Most dates were reinterpreted by Rutherford in 1931. In a 1932 booklet entitled What is Truth? it stated that “the second coming of Christ dates from the fall of the year 1914”, but this was not expanded on for many years. I t was not until 1943 that “… a clearer understanding of Biblical chronology” was presented (Jv p.133). God’s Kingdom on a Thousand Years Has Approached p 209 shows;

“ In the year 1943 the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society published the book “The Truth Shall Make You Free.” …This moved forward the end of six thousand years of man’s existence into the decade of the 1970’s. Naturally this did away with the year 1874 C.E. as the date of return of the Lord Jesus Christ and the beginning of his invisible presence or parousia. …Page 324 of the above book positively says: “The King’s presence or parousia began in 1914.””

    Eight years until 2014.

The Generation has all but vanished from the face of the Earth already. The doctrine has already changed from the original to, those that saw the Generation of 1914, and of those, there are still millions upon millions, after all, most of us in our forties knew our grandparents and even grandparents.

Seems like there's plenty of BS still in Crooklyn.....for now any way.

The last reference to 1799 as being the beginning of the, "Time of the End" ever to appear in the literature of JW's ocurred in the 1927 book, Creation on page 293.

The year 1874 was considered to be both the end of the 6th millenium and the commencement of Christ's parousia

Two of these three events (Beginning of the "Time of the End" and commencement of the parousia) were moved forward from their respective dates to 1914 in the early 1930's. (1874 was never at any point in JW history considered the beginning of the "Time of the End")

The end of the 6th millenium was moved forward by 100 years in 1943. The statement in the Proclaimer's book about the parousia being adjusted in this year is incorrect.

Oh hell this is easy enough to spiritualize! Just say that "When Jesus said 'this generation [genea] will not pass awat till all these things occur' he meant "generation" in the same sense as when Jesus said "a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after signs.' Jesus clearly meant a particular type of wicked ones, the scoffers of the lasr days, a wicked "generation" or type of person. This type or class of people will not pass way till all things occur, means these wicked ones will be arounf until the Great Trin and Battle of Armageddon." MM "The Full of Shit Class"

Every Jehovah's Witness member will grow old and die just like everyone else.

There is no Armageddon that will annihilate 6.5 billion people, and install Watchtower leaders as world rulers.

The core dogma of the Watchtower organization is that Jesus had his second coming 'invisibly' in the year 1914.Their entire doctrine is built on this falsehood.

Will a Jehovah's Witness please respond to the following prophecy that came from God's Channel on earth, the Watchtower Society and tell us when did this event take place?

If it did not take place, do you still believe that the Watchtower Society is teaching you the Truth?

"The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah"—How?

    Chapter 12 page 216 paragraph 9

"Until He Comes Who Has the Legal Right" ***

Shortly, within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom.

Watchtower literature proves that Jehovah's Witnesses have allowed themselves to be deceived by the lies of the Watchtower Society.
