Does anyone have the letter and can you scan it? It was read in all the congregations around here and we are not exactly in a disaster-prone area. The story I heard was the book study conductors had to come around to the publishers and check off whether they had put up a 6-day supply of food and water, etc.

Could it be what my JW mom emailed me today? I'll see if I can post it.

Did the Society actually list all those items in their letter? I'd like to see the letter. That's the first time I can ever remember their suggesting that we should prepare ahead of time for a disaster. They've always said "trust in Jehovah." I can't imagine a book study conductor coming around and checking off to see if we had everything on the list.

I don't know if she actually got a letter. I know this was emailed to her in one of her "JW" email circles/groups. I'll see what I can find out.

My wife, returned home from the book study this week, and mentioned that they want our phone #'s our regular phone and our cell phones. I told her no way they have no need for them, and she said they may need to contact us in an emergency, I then pointed out to her they don't even call when we have medical emergencies that they learn about, what the hell makes you think they are going to call when there is an actual emergency????? And that no in no uncertain terms are they to have our cell phone #'s. Our house phone is in the book if they need to contact you. Any other info they want is a no no so don't get me started or I will call the local PO of your congregation and give that bastard a good ass whipping orally if needed. Well that has her backing off as she knows I'm not shy about telling people off and giving them a hard time if it is called for. So hopefully she won't go behind my back but will have to wait and see, I told her if she does then I will change the phone and go to an unlisted #, and do the same with our cell phones if needed. They are tracfones so $19.98 and we will have a new one apiece. will have to wait and see. Emergency they don't give a damn about the R&F and never have they are just looking for ways to keep their thumbs on people.
