What percent of the JWs are still active because they want to, they are extremely happy, and really belive all the nonsense? What percentage is there because they would rather stay than leave? Easier to suffer in silence then make waves?

If everyone left that was dissillusioned, unhappy and fed up, I believe the borg would crumble. That is sooo sad that so many people feel trapped. I know I felt that way. It has really shocked me how relatively simple it has been to fade away. I should have done this years ago!!!!

The borg has got to feel that the natives are getting restless.

I was asking my husband this last night. I know my daughter is very unhappy, but if I start talking about the bOrg, she backs off.

I wonder how many would stay if the WT announced that armageddon wouldnt be comming for another 200 years !!!!!!! mass exodus I think.

I say about 2%. The brother would brought me into it was one of those number. He was very happy zealous, very ministry orientated, and always managed to visited the brothers whenever he was out in service. The vast majority are fooling themselves.

I would think the number to be extremly small. How many people do you know that have "converted" of their own free will? Not too many. The rest are born into the religion, they know no other way of life, and we all know the scare tactics the "org" and family use to keep you in.

I wouldn't think there are that many, judging by the number of basically unhappy people in my old kh.

Those in positions of authority are probably in the most part still fairly content, but I doubt if the majority of the r&f feel the same.

In the absence of statistics, I'd say 10% are deeply dissatisfied but staying, 10% are zealous believers, and 80% are neutrals. I am basing this on the 80-20 rule, or the Pareto Principle.

You'll see this same pattern at work. There are always the dissatisfied few who stay because they feel they have no choice (at least that is my experience in government). They do neither themselves or their employer a favor by dragging themselves to work. The zealous few do 80% of the work.

Or, if we look at the example of the Worldwide Church of God, they were able to retain 48% of their membership during fourteen years of dramatic change. So we could project that half of Witnesses would stay no matter what; whether the organization went radical or mainstream.

Most people float through life without making a marked effort to examine their motives or follow their dream. To make that sort of change requires a special kind of courage, even more so for an exiting Witness.

I think this is why the Borg use to say over and over "don't have kids" "this isn't the time to be having kids", so a lot of dubs didn't have kids. Have you heard any of that anymore??? If it wasn't for dubs kids the baptism numbers would be even more dismal then they have been. In my old hall, 80% were brought up in the truth, 15% were move ins, very small number actually came from the "territory" very strange.

I think the emphasis is off of not having children because they are they only ones that are getting baptised.
