Does the phrase "deer caught in the headlights" convey anything?

either mentally ill or illiterate. Sorry to say this but the majority of those drawn to the Witnesses will fit into one of these categories. Those who are not mentally ill, usually develop it over time as depression is rampant. And those well educated may come in due to needing a support group (this was so with me) but do not become lifers. By the way, the educated group are usually the most depressed over time. Perhaps realizing early on that they made a huge mistake. Lilly

My experience is that only those that came from a hard life, whether it be abuse, financial or various other hardships, are the only ones that are attracted to the j-dubs.

In the 1970s excellent
In the 1980s good
In the 1990s OK - but spiritually weak
2000s - poor

The quality of converts in my congregation was excellent. Most of us have left the cult.

A couple were pretty decent people. A couple were trying to make family happy, they got baptized showed at memorial and were eventually disfellowhsipped.
I was baptized the year I graduated from college. I agree with what loveylil said. Educated people and the watchtower don't go together. I left in 1989.
