Donating Blood...

I realized on Sunday that I had not yet done something that was on my list of DF'ing offenses. So first thing this morning, I went and donated some blood. I must say it felt very good to do so. Has anyone else done this while in "fade" mode?

No.

I didn't donate blood until after I disfellowshipped the apostates on the Governing Body and their 6 million supporters.

Donating blood is not a disfellowshipping offence is it, only accepting a blood transfusion is? I knew of some who were fading that donated blood. I've donated blood a few times since I've been out.

I donated blood until they kept calling me and I told them on a regular basis that I had gone thru surgery and was on some heavy meds and could not donate. After they called me every week for two months, I went nutz and told them to never contact me again. I felt like I was being stalked!

Nice one!! I did my first donation last week too, I went in pretty nervous but they were good to me. One of the nurses asked a marketing question on one of the many forms - 'why are you donating', and I had to tell her why. She wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped, but never mind.

I plan to donate blood at the next drive at the hospital I work at.

Congrats to you. I tried to get into it with a CO but he wouldn't bite. Just told me to write to the society. I gave awhile back. They just called asking me if I'd like to make another appointment for another drawing. I'll do it again. Since they called me back I guess my blood is good enough afterall.

I too was asked why I was donating. Gave a very nice witness™ to the nurse. She has relation who are witnesses but apparently as stayed away from the blood topic.

Is donating blood a DFing offense? Up until 2000 it was, where the act of accepting and donating blood became an act of disassociation.

I tried to donate immediately following 9/11, but a medication I was taking made me ineligible. I wasn't trying to be defiant, just trying to help.
