I was invited to my Uncles home, to tell their Church group about the witnesses. I don't want to talk about myself, or personal experiences but rather facts/things that happened.
Any ideas?
I have thought about Chronology and failed Prophecy, The beginning of, Shunning Policy, Governing Body e.t.c

Get ahold of the books written by Raymond Franz and Jim Penton. They contain a lot of material you can use.

The things that struck me most when I first was learning of the WT were
*blood
*teaching about 144,000
*1914 being a date of any significance, then everything surrounding that
*teaching that Jesus was Michael the Archangel in pre -exis form.
*FALSE PROPHECIES
*How the WT talks about "associations"
*How the WT talks about itself being God's "mouthpiece"
I think those are things outsiders don't generally know about, and it would be good if they were not ignorant of :)

I would start off by asking somerthing like, "Do you know any JW's?, Don't they seem like nice people?"
Then show a couple pictures of some chlidren playing and then ask, "Do you think that if judgment day was to come today that these children are wothy of death? And would you rejoice at their death?" When they answer "no", then explian that they could not be a JW if and believe that way. Explain that when judgement day comes that ALL non-JW's will be distroyed, for the crime of n0ot being a JW. And all those surviving JW's will rejoyce at the slaughter. You maybe could even show some pics from their books that show this.
This would at least get their attention.
One other thought, I don't recall if this exact wording in in and book but I had a elder say once in a talk that, "Every person who is not a JW is a worshiper of Satan wether they know it of not." So ask if any of them are JW's and when they say no then you can tell them that they are Satan worshiper, if the WT is correct.

A couple of months ago I spoke to a group at an Evangelism school at church. What was supposed to have been a 30 minute talk ended up hour and a half. I touched on the basic beliefs etc. But what fascinated them was the "culture and lifestyle" of JW's. The way they think and why did they do certain things. Shunning was of great interest as no one present could see the purpose of cutting someone off completely and calling it an "act of love". Also the JW view of Jesus Christ was a shock to some present. How JW's have no relationship with Christ or even Jehovah, but have to rely on being a member of the Watchtower and "associating" with the "anointed".
One person made the comment that she was friendly with JW neighbours, but always got the feeling in their company, no matter how friendly and smiling they were, that there was this barrier between them.

Well i've done it, i didn't give a personal testimony (invited back to do that at a later date) but they were as you said Gordy fascinated at how deep the cult is, the effect it has on people, the level of control. I covered everything from Charles T. Russell to Paradise and Field ministry reports, the lot and it was very good. Thanks folks for your help and advice, it did help a lot!
