He's only 3. He got on the bus this morning and when he realized that I wasn't coming with him he started to cry. I know the tears won't last for long because he really loves school, but it was hard seeing him go like that.

a 3 year old? On a bus?
Must be Preschool, or otherwise you are having some genious babies.... (Prob. the latter)
Well he is tall for his age. Looks like a 5 year old. People always give me this look when I tell them how old he is. This is his first day of Early Childhood Education (School sponsored (mostly anyway) preschool). He got in because he's speeched delayed. One smart cookie though.

How'd his first day go then Mrs J?
Has he forgiven you for putting him on the bus on his own yet?!
My nephew cried on his first day at nursery school (he was 4 at the time) so the teacher bent down to try calm him down - she was greeted with a head butt to the chin!
Did you get teary eyed Mrs. Jones? I admit I cried when my son started school, knowing he would be my last baby home with me during the day. He is 12 now. Lilly
I cried when my babies went to school also. I was fortunate enough that I was able to stay home with the kids until the last one was in kindergarten. mrsjones,, my youngest was speech delayed also, he needed tubes in his ears and his Dad and I were dumb enough to let some in the congregation talk us out of it at first. Then when he was 2 and 1/2 we had them put in, at first when he started talking he sounded like he was speaking another language because before the tubes everything he heard was muffled. Afterwards, his ear infections stopped and he had about 4 years of speech therapy. He was smart as a whip though and the speech therapy helped him so much. P.S. He just graduated from Oklahoma University with a Geology and Petroleum Engineering degree. So proud of him.

Forgiven me? Haha, the boy runs to the bus now when it comes in the morning.

Must be really hard letting them go and grow.
I bet he has lots of things to tell you and show you when he gets home each day though - that must surely make up for the heartache
