Would Silent Lambs web site make a difference to a JW study?

A friend of mine was molested as a child. Not by a JW, by the way.

She is a JW wanna-be, studying for several years, but never baptized. I had thought about sending an anonymous mailing with the Silent Lambs web site address to her. If she didn't know anything about them and she accessed the web site, do you think any of it would sink in?

I had asked her several questions about the blood rule of the WTS, to which she had no good answers at all, and she knew it. I noticed that she had another blood brochure, but wasn't as willing to show that one to me. I had previously asked many questions about the "can blood save lives?" publication. This was a different one. I can't remember what it was called. If any of you know, would you pass it on to me? I'd like to get a hold of one. She hid her's under some books when I got there, so I knew she didn't really want to talk about it. Maybe she knew that none of it really makes sense.

Any help you can give is appreciated!

If she is determined to one day become a jw, then there is little that you can show her that will turn her away from them.

However she has, as you say, been an abuse victim, and maybe she believes the wts is the one religion that truly protects children, as that clain is part of their propaganda. Maybe showing her some of the videos on the silentlambs website might persuade her that the jws are, in their policy towards child abuse at least, no better than any other religion.

To show her such things may be tantamount to forcing her to relive what must have been a horrifying experience, but if it keeps her away from the jws, it will at least prevent her from sufferring an equally bad experience in the wts.

To her, it probably would make a difference. To any of the regular brain-dead brigade, I'd have to agree with Linda. It wouldn't make the slightest difference because it would be viewed as apostate propaganda!

There is no telling if and/ or when it may possibly make ANY difference. Yet you MUST try. THAT much is your duty to your fellow human.

And don't forget to include freeminds.org for good measure.

You HAVE to at least try!! I was sexually molested by a MS in JW's (stepdad). I have looked at other web sites. Silent lambs will at the very least tuck at her heart and plant a seed. Even if she doesn't react to it now, it will stay with her!!

I would also suggest you share with her the S{urvivors}N{etwork}Abused-BY}P{riests} website and support networks there. Show her how very much the WTBTS has in common with the Catholic church. And that SILENTLAMBS.ORG has worked with SNAP in the past {google}. Impress upon her that one of the differences is that JW's are actually on our property every day, KNOCKING ON OUR DOORS.

[ I'm not sure how others feel, yet just their very presense in my hood sets my guard up, knowing all I know about this organization and it's deadly and crippling policies. Their free speech bullcrap does not impress me. They soon see, at my door, that it's a two way street as far as free speech. ]

With respect, you MUST try and do what you are ABLE. Even if it's just writing down these two websites somewhere on literature you know she will see and read. Be covert if you have to.

It's everyone's duty to help children that are in now and prevent others from ever entering. It isn't a difficult task my friends. Each child is worth at least a small act of bringing awareness to the public.

If I may add too, it is an absolute wonderful feeling one gets from helping a child that can't themselves. When you start realizing how easy it is to do, on an almost daily basis, by easy tasks, you want to DO MORE! {pun intended...lol} You start feeling good about yourSELF and you begin to discover that you ARE actually helping.

If you can cut, copy and paste. Have a printer filled with ink and plenty of paper. You are set to activate. If you need help and/ or ideas, GOOGLE: JEHOVAH'S WITNESS FLIERS or SILENTLAMB FLIERS or WATCHTOWER FLIERS. Take those fliers and distribute them ALL OVER TOWN. Conspicuously or inconspicuously. Get 'er done!
