In the old books of the Watchtower they usually always gave the recent number of printes copies. The convention releases would normally state something like "6,000,000 copies".
I noticed that in the new release it just states "2006 Edition".
Do they want to conceal the development of their printing?
Of course, the year number makes it easier to use the same edition in the BS. Because of the many changes to come, you know?

I haven't noticed this, but i wouldn't doubt it. They are taking out everything they can it seems like.
I'm sure there has been drop in production, there has just got to be. -

Incidently, what about the WTs and Awakes? Do they still print the number of copies? And has anyone noticed whether these have gone up or down?
We will need to remember that the Awake has been cut down to one issue a month so if the printing run is the same, it still means that they have halved the print of that mag.

A print run of "6,000,000 copies"?
And that is only for one edition of one book.
With multi-million copies being printed for each of most of the Watchtower books, you would think that there would be used copies all over the place, easy to find. But old Watchtower books are actually not that easy to find in used book stores.
What has happened to all those millions of books printed?

Once again, it is what the WTS doesn't say that is most important.

I think the change is most likely the newer print technologies which allow more 'on demand' printing. Publishers no longer have to gear up for massive print-runs like they did in the past.

Maybe many exJWs like me bundled just about every publication I had accumulated and had hubby bring them to the town dump.....especialy all those 30 years of old WTS magazines!
