I heard a very powerful, moving talk on a cassette that one of my friends had, and it was an Australian who gave it. I think, if I remember correctly, it was around 1993/94 when I got it.
I never heard any rumours that he wasn't a jw though.

Could the bro have been a little jealous of the mans speaking ability? I have known that happen. I can remember hearing a talk on tape by Daniel Sydlik, and a bro knocking it, saying the speaker wasn't very eloquent. Bro Sydlik was on the governing body at the time!
