  I took a look back in the JWD archives and found the first thread (I think) on this board about the 9/11/01 attack. Although I wasn't here to post that day, I found the thread to be an interesting read. Its all there. The shock, the disbelief, the rumors, the sadness, the anger. All the uncertainty of that day written in your words. Plus the distress and condemnation of reports that Jehovah's Witnesses were thrilled at the event.

  The thread was started by a poster named MadApostate with the subject line, "TURN ON CNN: PLANE HIT WORLD TRADE CTR BLDG!!!" at 8:04 am (I assume Central time), just 18 minutes after the attack started. The last post was by bikerchic at 11:30 pm. She seconded Big Tex who wrote "Rest in peace" with a photo of a candle. The end of a long, exhausting day.

  I was tempted to btt the thread, but reading the last post with the wish to Rest in Peace...

  I have read through half of the thread you posted and emotionally I cant read anymore right now.

  On that day, i was still a JW and i was terrified, not for me but for what it meant. I had just returned from a day at school where no one knew of it when i walked into my Grandma's off the bus - it was on the news. Straight away, utter terror and shock at something so huge.
  
  At home the folks had not known about it, so i got them to turn on the news. All of us just basically in awe at the sheer scale of such a thing and that some people would do something so awful.
