Inappropriate, uncontrollable hilarity during prayers

Another thread just reminded me of this. Did any of you go in to hysteria during prayers due to sounds, smells, or faces being made etc....especially the long ones?

These are some of the better memories for me. My now husband has a great sense of humor and always got me to laughing during the prayers. My mom was pretty good at it too.

Either by eye rolling, holding their nose, or just the twinkle of an eye could get me going at anytime.

    Did this happen to you?

babies deciding to fill their diapers just when it got quiet for the prayer was always funny.

one of my kids at around 2 yrs old would keep saying "amen amen amen" under his breath until he had enough prayer then he'd say it louder and louder.. when he was a lil older he'd cry if one particular elder got up to pray, he always had the longest prayers.. and my son knew it and he'd cry and yell ..but maaaaaaaa he prays toooo long!!! that'd crack everyone up.. i'd take him on outside sometimes, i got fussed at cuz i didnt beat the shit out of him for being bad at the meetings . i wasnt going to discipline him for telling the truth!!

I remember my nephew was a baby, he had been really fussy all meeting. The prayer as usual was going on and on and on, he let out a burp so loud you wouldn't believe it came from a baby, it nearly blew his socks off. That completely cracked everyone in the rows around us up for the rest of the prayer.

Once, during a prayer, a little girl sternly said to one of her parents in a loud voice, "DON'T YOU SPANK MY BUM!!!"

I don't think anyone was able to keep a straight face.

I used to laugh when a JW often used the words "please help us examine carefully what there is on our plate" meaning it of course in a figurative way.

This wasn't during prayer, but a meeting. My under 2 year old daughter said quite loudly, "I want a beer!". *She was precocious in talking but I think she meant a root beer, as it was hot and I don't think she ever drank real beer*. I tried to shush her and she said even louder, "No, really I want a BEER!!" The funniest thing was the brother sitting behind me leaned forward and said "Don't worry I want one too!".

PRICELESS!! I always got the giggles during "quiet time", whether it be the meeting itself or prayer. My friends and family all knew how easy it is to make me laugh and would take full advantage of this. Seriously the things that in normal life are not necessarily funny to me completely set me off during the meeting and/or prayer. Sometimes all I have to do is think of something someone said to me some other time that made me laugh then, and I'll get the giggles all over again.
