If people should thank Him for the good why not blame Him for the bad

Ok the thread on thanking Jehovah for keepping a purse safe while left in a shopping cart, got me to thinking.

If we are suppossed to thank God for the good things in life, why is it wrong to blame him for the bad things?

Now I am not saying I blame God for anything. So please don't comment on this thread saying I am bad person for asking this question, because I don't buy that.

I am just asking why does he only get the praise and none of the blame?

    That is why.

People are a afraid to say it. Or, I should say, afraid of what people will think or worried about what they'll think.

But you are right. 'You gotta take the good with the bad' applies to everyone, including him. He (let's just say He's real) allows it. He watches it happen and does nothing to stop it even though He easily could. It's like watching a crime you could easily stop and doing nothing.

Well if you are refurring to the Bible God, here's why: He get really mad when people don't worship him and give him all the praise, I think I can if I wanted to show you lots of bible verses where God gets really pissed off at people who don't worship him the way he likes it. So one reason that many only praise him and don't blame him is because thewy will recieve some form of divine retribution if the start pissing him off by blameing him.

I don't believe that jehovah is real anyway, but if he is he's certainly guilty of inaction. He oversees all this sufferring, and does nothing to stop, when according to him, he could do so easily. That's the mark of a god of hatred, not love, in my book.

This exact thought always crosses my mind especially when inconsequential things are attributed to any "higher power."

Like an athlete that looks or points skyward after scoring a goal of some kind. If the opposing team scores, they do the exact same thing!!! Does the almighty have a favorite team? Obviously not because both sides give him credit. It's just so stupid and petty.

And, like you state, he gets credit for finding a purse. Does an entity entrusted to watch the entirety of mankind (all the billions and billions of people) take timeout from his duties to watch over people in peril to help some dumbass find something? And, again as you state, what's the deal if you don't find your property?

Seems like his time would either be better spent helping folks in a life-or-death predicament or some subtle reminder to the dumbass to not lose their stuff in the first place. It all just makes me ill...

It's ok to blame him just don't cuss at him while you're doin' it.

I get angry at him a lot lately...why not?

This question has bothered me for a long time. I still believe in God, I just don't believe he's that intimately involved in my life. Just sort of created everything and let us loose....

When I thank God for something, it's usually for the beauty in nature that I experience... or the ability to feel such deep love for my kids.... not for specific events. If he set everything up, and it's working the way it should, life is wonderful. If it's not going well.... ok, fine, I'm one of the people who doesn't want to think about what that means, I guess.

I don't know if I would use the word blame, but

    Job 1:21

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

I do believe God causes all for a reason, we just don't fully understand why, yet.

    Isa 45:7

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
