Silent Hill - The Dangers of Religious Extremism

  Has anyone seen Silent Hill? Anyway, I thought this movie was fantastic!! I loved the engaging plot. As the title suggests, crucial to the story is the misdeeds of a Christian cult. Thus I thought it might interest some of us on JWD.

  If you've played the game you may not like it so much though. For those who are curious, you may like to know that Silent Hill is a horror movie (adapted from a game) and it's a tad violent.

  I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this movie on JWD (the last I checked). Anyone seen it? Was released in April 2006 in America, UK and Canada. Arrived at the bum end of the world a month ago.

  We watched Silent Hill.. It was a bit too dark and strange and depressing for me..but my husband thought it was a great movie.

  I guess you could say she was an apostate, but I thought the move was dumb.

  I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the movie. Some things are just acquired tastes i guess. Horror is often dark. I cannot think of one that isn't. But horror buffs don't just focus on that single aspect. Even as lovers of dark chocolate do not only taste it's bitterness. It's the whole movie (if executed well) that impresses.
