The elderly brother with the nice hair
There was an elderly brother in one of the former
congregations that I had once attended that had very
nice hair; similar to the Hollywood star Burt Reynolds,
when he starred in the old Smokey and the Bandit
movies.
Always thought he was about thirty years old
He was nice but he always made it a point to poke fun
at brothers who were losing there hair or who were bald-
ing. For a man of sixty years of age his hair made him
look really good.
On the day it happened
One day when we were out in field service it happened to
be a very windy day. A powerful gust of wind caught us
and—his hair. The wind immediately took the rug off of
his head and hurled it ten to fifteen feet high and about
twenty to thirty feet away from us.
The Witnesses give chase
Immediately, everyone suddenly stopped what they were
doing and started to chase his toupee down the street. (It
was an idiotic spectacle.) At that moment a cat saw what
was happening and he started to give chase, perhaps,
thinking it was a small squirrel or rodent of some kind.
The cat catches the "rodent"
The cat caught the toupee and clenched it between his teeth.
The elderly brother was screaming for someone to chase the
cat down. Fortunately, one of the younger brothers who was
lighting fast chased the cat down and the cat seeing that his
"rodent" was actually just a toupee dropped it during the chase.
Cured him of poking fun at others
After that incident the elderly brother never poked fun at a
balding man again.
Respectfully,
The Wanderer
