When I first turned on the computer, it showed pictures of Terri Irwin and her grieving, the TV commentators talking about Terrell Owens (possibly) trying to commit suicide, Rev Run his wife (Run's House MTV reality series) baby being still-born --the babies internal organs were external. . .

    etc...

    Life is hard.

I try to avoid the news whenever i can, this week a baby girl was killed by two dogs poor little mite, and i could'nt believe those awful murders that came up on my computer, about someone who killed her pregnant friend cut out the dead baby and drowned the other 3 kiddies then stuffed them in washing machine! And she's a mother too how could she?The only good news i saw this week was about a three year old boy who managed to but a £9,000 car on ebay!I wish they'd put more things like that on the news to balance it all out and end on a good note and i wish they wouldn't put the news on at dinnertime cos it puts me off eating or near bedtime and then i lie awake crying about it all!

i saw some good news too......

remember the mermaid baby.....she is walking!

Sept. 25, 2006 — Peru's "little mermaid," a baby born with legs fused from her thighs to her ankles, is taking her first steps since undergoing a series of operations last year to separate her limbs.

Milagros Cerron, 2, was born with a rare congenital defect known as sirenomelia, or "mermaid syndrome," which occurs in one out of every 70,000 births.

She was seen taking her first steps today, more than a year after her medical procedures began. In June of 2005, doctors started the first of three complicated operations to separate the legs of the toddler whose name means "miracles" in Spanish.

A medical team of 10 doctors including plastic surgeons, pediatricians and heart specialists assisted in the surgeries, which are nearly complete.

"We just need to finish up some touches on her lines," her doctor Luis Rubio said. "You have to give some form to a mermaid and make her look as a normal person. This would be a cosmetic issue and we will proceed as needed."

Rubio said they've reached 98 percent of their goals for Cerron and the remaining cosmetic surgery will help her look like a "normal person."

She is one of three known children with this affliction worldwide.

Her father, Richard Cerron, said he has been hoping "with faith in God" that his daughter would be able to walk and have a normal life.

"I hope we could go for a walk, that she could go to school and do it by herself. That's what I would like," Cerron said.

I also avoid most of the news. I wish they would only report happy stuff because I know there are a lot of happy stories. But I know that will never happen, so I just turn it off.

Election is in 2008 and they're already slingin crap. Hate politics.

Maybe they want to turn people off by giving them all this depressing news, what about televising the people who try and change these terrible things.
