When the site first went up there was much jubilation and celebrations because of general confidence

that it was "untouchable". The content of Reexamine was second to none and many, including I, used it extensively.

Well it seems to have been "touched" and not too gently.

Has it been "touched" out of existence? Or are we to expect a joyous return?

It would be very, very sad if it has gone the way of its illustrious predecessor "Quotes".

Could someone PLEASE shed some light on this sad situation?

Haven't been to Reexamine in some time. Thank goodness I still have my quotes site download!

The Watchtower is clearly responsible for this as who else would care if that material was online?

The Watchtower has become very "copyright conscious" in recent years. One would think that they would rather spend their time and energies on more theocratic pursuits.

It has, yesidid. But many copies of the full archive of pubs have survived the event.

I ahve little doubt the same will reemerge shortly under new management. That is the wonder of the Internet, the sites are like cockroaches. You might kill one, but the others are just going to scurry away to breed and multiply. Killing sites is the friendliest thing the WTS could possibly do for the apostates. It forces apostates to innovate new sites.

Truly Jehovah’s witnesses as irresistible "locusts" were ‘diligent in the business’ of their Father and His unconquerable King during the decade ending in 1939. (Prov. 22:29; Luke 2:49) Much happened to them organizationally; and at the same time their unending resistance of apostate opposers prominently brought them forth onto the world stage as champions of freedom of speech and of worship. From a nontheocratic source its concluding commendatory words are here included:

Yea, their the champions of "Freedom of Speech".
