and how come there isn't just one type of blood?

There is A, B, and O, and then AB- and AB+, O negative and positive are interchangeable I think. I have type "Delta 9 Tetra Hydra Cannabinol"... and 50% AB-.
God wanted there to be trouble during wars, so he mixed up the blood types when he confused the languages at babel. He wantd to make sure that the future of the Blood Bank Centers of America were going to have to work for their efforts. Jehovah's Organzation was.... OH SHIT...Who am I kidding with this crap...
Who knows??

Blood wants to have a unique "signature" so to speak, so that the body's immune system can identify and repel invaders. Look at it as a sort of password or key, to only let those the body wants, in.
Just guessing, but I'd imagine that the reason would be similar to the reason that there are different "races", i.e. they arose at different times in human history either as a mutation, or perhaps when a dominant or recessive gene gave some advantage as the human race spread out of Africa into other climatic zones? Someone with medical experience might want to comment, but some blood types may be more resistant to some diseases than others.
Maby it's from half angel and half human babies.
I imagine the same reason there are different faces/noses/skin color/sexes/DNA. Variety and all that. The only difference is that some things are more out of sight than others(usually:) )
