Seems as though this latest court ruling in California is huge in it's implications. Could we, as good citizens make it even more so by participating on the local slate?

Those with suburb writing skills might want to use this pallet to aid those less capable. If we all got a letter to the local rags, this issue could get far greater attention in the press.

Let's do it for the kids.

I sent out a couple of online letters to the editors last night. And this morning, added to a discussion thread about locally registered pedophiles, that they may be hanging out at your local KHs of JWs whose policies, blah, blah. Here's the link to the local paper's online forum where I posted: http://forums.starnewsonline.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1661088265/m/1271028575/p/2 I said, in response to a thread urging us to find out where the registered sex offenders are living: "Some of these pedophiles may be hanging out at the local Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses, whose policies about reporting sex abuse make the organization a safe haven for such abusers, (who always find convenient blame-the-victim excuses). According to silentlambs.org, the JWs have a database of at least 20,000 members whose sexual offenses may never have been reported to the authorities, but kept secret and recorded by the JW elders of individual congregations around the country. This week a California court ruled in favor of sex abuse victims, against the Jehovah's Witnesses. The current California ruling against the Jehovah's Witnesses basically says the organization can no longer hide behind the "claim "clergy penitent privilege" with information that would lead to the possible conviction or implication of further crimes against children by Jehovah’s Witness child molesters. The secondary issue regards civil damages . . . due to negligence of church officials in not reporting allegations of child abuse putting additional children in danger,"(quote from SilentLambs.org). Please feel free to copy and paste this info where ever it is appropriate to do so."

A very slight misspelling in the news release in the last paragraph.

We look forward to the day when the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses follows the example set by the Pope of the Catholic Church and apologizes for their role in allowing polices that continue to hurt children.

"Polices" should have been spelled "policies."
