Small earthquake hits south-east Melbourne
Seismologists have confirmed a small earthquake has rocked Melbourne's south-east.
The magnitude two earthquake was initially thought to be magnitude 4.
The suspected tremor follows a magnitude four earthquake on Saturday night 30 kilometres east of Cowra, in the central west of New South Wales.
Phil Cummins from Geoscience Australia says its purely coincidence there have been two earth tremors in two days,
"I don't yet regard this as too far outside the norm," he said.
"I mean earthquakes happen continuously in Australia, we get plenty of magnitude threes and twos that are rarely felt, it is true we have had two magnitude fours but I really don't think it is anything unusual."
