Just curious if there was a "Demon-Possessed" person in the hall, what is the guideline that the elders would have to follow through the Society? Would they have to give up power to a catholic priest who might have expirience with this, or since they are the only "true" religion would they try to handle it on their own. I'm just curious as to what would happen, it's a very unique situation that I haven't heard of happening in a Witness setting.

    1. Throw away anything the possessed one recently bought at a garage sale.
    2. Study the WTS books more.
    3. Go out in field service more.

    That's it! Easy, isn't it?

    Ok... that made me chuckle...
I wonder how long tell there's a "young people ask" article:

"With all the Demons having nothing better to do than set up house inside items that have been set aside for garage sales, should I, as a young person who loves Jehovah and his organization just avoid these Satanic garage sales entirely. Or can I just safely go to the garage sales of my faithful brothers and sisters from the Kingdom Hall. Also, If I eat a hamburger from a Demon possessed restaurant, how can I get rid of it... Should I enduce vomiting or just wait to poop it out later. If I do wait for it to pass naturally, would I be better off wiping my butt with a watchtower than toilet paper.... You can't be too careful, you know"

P.S. Brothers thank you so much for your recent answer to the question about masturbation... that was a hard problem to beat! Thanks for helping me stick it out. I just wish I could have licked it myself, but reading your thoughtful loving response sure killed my desire! The next time my hands get bored, I'll sure go knock on some doors instead!

    Thanks,
    Gordon

Not at all. The JWs exorcise demons with a very simple and efficient method, which is as follows:

    1. Throw away anything the possessed one recently bought at a garage sale.
    2. Study the WTS books more.
    3. Go out in field service more.

And if that doesn't work they just DF the poor bastard. Problem solved.

I heard a story about a really old elder at my old hall who went to a witness house that had become demon possessed. Everything was flying around the room and he said "get out of here in the name of Jehovah" and everything stopped.

You just have to say Jehovah I think. A bit like on Monty python but you don't get stoned for it. LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3eI-RRBUyY

And, of course the elders would pray over the person. I remember once at a circuit assembly when I was a youngster.....back when we held these at a rented school somewhere in the Circuit......my dad was in charge of the First Aid room and my friends and I would hang out there sometimes. Well, we got shooed out quickly one time because of someone "with demons".....the elders prayed and prayed over him, held him down, searched him for anything demonic, told his family to search their house for anything bought at a garage sale or given to them, blah-blah-blah. Years later, I heard that this poor kid had only a seizure disorder and that apparently that assembly was the first episode of it. How stupid to not have called for an ambulance or medical assistance and just assume the poor kid was demonized. He could have died or been hurt by their ignorance. (I don't think that would happen today, with liability issues and all, but that was in 60's....when lawsuits weren't so common.....)

Or, you could offer the demon a free home bible study. If that doesn't get rid of it in record time, nothing will.
