I've noticed in the last couple of years that they practically advertise their musical interlude before the start of the morning session.
It feels like 1984.

Yep.
I am not sure if the GB does really play the instruments or at least composed the songs.
They approve of the songs; maybe that's how it's meant. Anyway, at my cong. they say "let's enjoy this song provided by the FDS."
The songs are written by JWs. Through the local elders, they tapped into any that musical ability and asked them to submit songs. A brother we were friends with was one of the people who submitted music. He wouldn't say whether they used any of his stuff, it was supposed to be anonymous.
On a side note, that's probably why I'm still touchy about anyone telling me what I WILL enjoy. I'll enjoy or not enjoy as I see fit. LOL
