PBS just aired a great episode on The American Experience. It was about yellow fever. And how while the cure has not been found, the pioneering efforts of some dedicated doctors, in one case sacrificing his life, lead to the understanding that a certain type of mosquito was transmitting the virus. Then through screening, clearing out cisterns and sterilizing water to kill larvae, the epidemics were stopped. All of this happened in the early 1900s.

And what was The Watchtower Society saying 20 years later about the causes of disease? Note this little gem from the 1928 Golden Age:

    *** The Golden Age, Nov. 28, 1928, p. 133 ***

All human ailments have their start in the intestines.

    That was a good special.

Yeah, hide those golden ages... then give talks about how crystals and refloxology are demonic.

The organisation was totally opposed to any form of innoculation/immunisation until just before the 2nd World War 1939

Has the wt ever said reflexology was demonic?

Half the reflexologists in my town are JWs.

Ive heard it implied from time to time, but never outright said at the Assembly.

I know a few JWS who do this, personally I think half of it is crap, but half of it isn't.

I use refloxology massage to help my sinus troubles. It works!

I saw the yellow fever show ,too. What was most intersting was the ridicule that the Cuban doctor took for proposing that mosquitos transmitted the disease. It was 20 years later when an Army doctor, Walter Reed, convinced the sceptics using a scientific test with paid volunteers.

You would think that a 100+ year long test of the watchtower Society would be long enough to convince it's members that the WT Organization is not God's one true religion on earth.

One speaker at our DC this year hinted that genetics may hold hope for improved human health. Then he floored me when he said: "But by the time scientists figure out how to make humans live forever, the New Order will be here." Like he knows. I guess like Auldsoul says, this stuff will never change.
