Why does the Soceity have the KN37 message available in sign language on there web site but not a print version, can't people that don't hear still read? And if the message is so important shouldn't it be the main topic there? I don't get it. seek2find

They don't want to just "give" the information in the tract to people via the website. They want
to keep the publishers busy "placing" it, brag about how many were placed, and get JW's
in a habit of handing out material that is small, cheap. The only reason the Sign Language
version is available at the website is, so that deaf people who are handed the printed tract with
a sticker mentioning the website, can take a look in their primary language. They won't know to
look unless they get a tract or another deaf person tells them to look. They could have given the
deaf the CD (publishers in sign language have one each) but that costs more than the tract. What could they brag about if JW's told people to go to the website. "Well folks, we got
50 million hits, but only 4000 accurate addresses out of our website. Looks like most of
humanity is ready to be destroyed." No, they would rather say they places 30 to 40 million
tracts, obtained many new interested ones, restarted many inactive publishers. -

TO: On the way out, So I guess the method of delivery is the Paramount thing. So much for the importance of the message, huh. seek2find

I'm told by a friend who does signing for the deaf that some do find reading difficult, especially they've been deaf from birth.
If you think about it, you have to vocalise words in order to learn to read them.

Yes, If the importance of the message was the thing, they would use modern technology
to place ads in Times Square and in other cities, popular magazines, television and radio shows. If the GB truly thought the "end is imminent" they would do more to spread the word, and not
plan for the future with their assets. This is a "keep busy" effort that will have little effect on
the public, but will allow rank and file to feel good about themselves. This is my first month reporting ZERO field service in my fade. I can't wait to see how they
talk about this important work that I am abstaining from. Honestly, what do you think most
people will do with their Kingdom News #37? -

The deaf in the United States are responding to the preaching of JW's.
This response causes the Service Dept. to give some latitude to Sign language. "Do what you need to do to get a positive
response without spending too much money." I am confident that the deaf responding in the U. S. are not contributing over-
whelmingly to the World Wide Work, but they are not a huge burden on costs, either. This said, I am also confident that
the GB is hopeful that Sign Language and other foreign language groups in the U.S. will keep the growth numbers in the
positive for a few years, while more effort is made to trim costs and focus on other areas of the world that are more profitable.Groups like the deaf are huge internet users, though. It is only a matter of time before the Sign Language congregations are
full of interested persons asking lots of questions. I imagine that foreign language groups in the U.S. love the internet, too. -
