They've made huge holes all through one side of our front yard. We've scolded them (after the fact, put water balloons, their own feces, cayenne pepper in the holes but nothing has stopped them. Has anyone here successfully got their dogs to stop digging? We've caught them in the act twice and scolded them but that didn't work either. We have a lab mix and a shepherd mix.

Go to the lumberyard..Go to the section where they have cement blocks..Find the size that would fit the hole your dog likes to dig..Buy at least 6..Every time your dog digs a hole, drop a block into it and cover it over..He`ll go back to that spot and dig it up,only he`ll hit cement..A few weeks of that and he`ll give up...OUTLAW

Thanks outlaw. I think I'll try that. I was got a similar solution on line to bury junk in the holes but I thought my shepherd would just love to find junk to chew up. The bricks sound like it may actually work.
