Why is it that you believe that you have to work for your salvation when the Bible states very clearly that we are saved by grace? All salvation demands is that you ask for forgiveness, and denounce your sins, its not something that you can work for, you have to believe.

Hi chanie, and welcome. Just a tip, most of the people here are either ex-JWs and no longer espouse the WT doctrine on faith = works or are Christians who don't believe that faith = works.

Chanie,
I am no longer an active JW and trying to understand salvation by Grace through Jesus Christ was something I still struggle to understand. Your right JW's don't recognize salvation by Grace. I know all have trouble understanding the concept. I think it is a beautiful concept.

Hello chanie, and welcome to the forum.
Actually, I am not a jw anymore, and I reject their beliefs totally these days, as do most of the people on this discussion board.

Hello chanie !!

I am an exJW who accepted Jesus as my God, Lord and Savior.
Jesus did all the work for me on the cross.

I am sorry if I sounded presumptious...I am just relating to what I have studied the JW's beliefs. I am just trying to understand where they are getting their beliefs. I am sorry for the attitude that I have perceived in my post.

No problem.
Most of us were booted out of the JW cult and don't believe that crazy trash they teach now.

You know, with a site named jehovahs-witness.com, it seems very common that people feel that this is a pro-Witness site at times. Which speak well for the admin, as it made it in such a way that maybe active Witnesses could come here on accident and read something to wake them up from their darkness, before they realize this place would not be something the Watchtower would like. Anyway, it also brings people who have questions about the Witnesses, who do not realize that some of the things spoken of here are not Witness beliefs. Oh, the mess of trying to explain Witness vrs NonWitness and why it means something to us!
Anyway, this is not a Witness site and your question sounds like one directed at the Witnesses. So I will answer, related to how the Witness feel and believe.
Jehovah's Witnesses is to imply action, they are Witnessing about something. They feel that baptism is the beginning and not the end to your ministry. They feel that, much like the early apostles, they were to preach after baptism and live a good life and not be ones who felt once saved always saved. They feel that Christianity, has softened the meaning to what it means to be saved to allow the weaker form of following the words of the Bible to come into play. People can sin, and sin and sin, and yet they feel they are still saved. They do not do this, they feel works of faith, preaching, and living by God's law and word are needed.
On a same note, but not Christianity, I do feel that for the most part. That Christianity has turned itself into a joke of religions, in that it has allowed itself to be bent to what ever makes someone feel good. That is why there are so many Christian churches. Find the one that makes you feel good, leave the ones that don't and yet label all of yourselves SAVED CHRISTIANS. Only makes sense, if your a Christian, I guess.

Actually, the admins were active witnesses when they created this site. It didn't take long until they were ex-witnesses, though.
I think they do a fantastic job of keeping as 'safe' a place as possible for active and inactive/ex- witnesses to partticipate.
Chanie - Welcome to JWD. It's a great to place to discuss just about anything.
