At work, probably people could tell right away that you were different, by not smoking, not playing lotto, not cussing, not celebrating birthdays and so on...
How long were you able to go without anyone knowing you were a JW?

I told people of my new beliefs, so no time at all really. It was the same when I left, or at least after I handed in my da letter. That was harder than telling them I'd become a jw, having to admit I'd made a mistake.

I was raised as a witness, so thruout high school I tried to keep it hidden as a I felt embarrased by it. After high shcool 1971 I came out of the closet because of 1975 and I took the message seriously and tried to save people. That was my goal the first 5 years out of high school, to save other people, when I should have been preparing myself to live in this world. When nothing happened in 75, 76, 77, 78 I started researching in bookstores and I left in 83. Just walked away, never been back.
