This is to all the people who know other languages. Like that one dude all isolated that knows 7 languages. How do you say apostate in any other language? Can you include a pronunciation guide? Or if not apostate, at least goat.

Since the WT vocabulary is a language in itself, it would be better to find out what word the WTS uses in that language for "apostate." A comparison with a WT publication in English with one in the language you are interested in would be a better approach. Using non-JW dictionaries would have limited value; many don't even provide a word for "apostate."

Also, consider this, the word "apostate" does not appear in most English bibles. This and the above contributes to a real difficulty in finding a word that will give the meaning that the WTS wants to convey to a non-JW audience.

Thanks unclebruce. Good lord. Quite the list. It reminds me of when I would read over the seven detestable things to see how far down the list I'd made it. Thanks to everyone else. I know it's a WBT word, but the crappy literature is translated into lots of languages, so I figured ex-jws from other languages would know it. It's pretty cool. I like other languages. Gracias, kiitos, bedankt, merci, danke, grazie, kiaora koe, takk, tack, nandri!!!
