    Revenge on Tinseltown

They've raped her, they've struck her down!
My heart's wife! Oh glorious crown!
    Her beauty wasted, treasured gown
    of virtue slain in Tinseltown!

Ere darkest black upon me creep,
ere mother cradle in the deep,
I vow to her I shall not sleep
until I've made those villains weep!

    Sherry,

    I wrote it.

I have gotten a lot of different responses over the years about what people think it refers to. I think that is a very good thing. In my opinion, good poetry evokes thought and emotions; causes the reader to create and imagine; encourages the reader to create the context. That's why I don't usually like explaining what I was meaning by what I wrote. What anyone takes from it is just as valid as what I was imagining when I wrote it.

    Respectfully,

As someone who lives with a published poet (Trev has had several in anthologies), I would say that that is very good AuldSoul, if a little sad.

I keep trying to get Trev to put some of his on here, but he won't. I may do it for him when he isn't looking.
