Did you go in field service at lunch or dinner time?

Today, going to see my dad, I saw 2 JW's going door to door at 12:25pm. Gee, can't they let people eat in peace?

I remember when I used to go preach. I wanted to have lunch and didn't want to bother others while they ate, so I made sure that I stopped at 11:45 and I wanted to be home at 12 noon to eat.

Although people tolerate the JW's, I don't see why some have to bother people during normal eating hours.

No, not even when I was pioneering, unless a return visit had asked me to call at that time. We weren't all that welcome at most houses anyway, so interrupting someone's meal would have endeared us to them even less.

I remember a zealous elder that never stopped preaching before 12:15. He would finish the street he started even if it meant doing 30 minutes more.

I felt ashamed pesting people after noon. And I was hungry too. But that elder always had it his way even if he was in my car !!!

    JH,

I never went door to door around lunch or dinner time or knew anyone who did.

Maybe it's the new Jehovah's Witness diet? you see them coming and up comes your food, or there goes your appetite!

Actually, I found few JWs willing to go out past 11:30 or 11:45 in the morning. Only a few older diehards did this. I imagine that some are going out longer hours with the tract.

Most avoid dinner time. Heavens, you might find someone home!
